Hi,Could you conform for me if I am correct in this pattern, pls?I would rather study at home.I would study at home rather than going out. (Ing here because of the study?)I would study at home than going out. (Ing here because of the study?)Cheers

Could you conform for me if I am correct in this pattern, pls?

I would rather study at home.
I would study at home rather than go ~~ing~~ out. (Ing here because of the study?) No. Incorrect. In this pattern, you must keep both verbs in the same verb form. Correct as edited in green.
I would study at home than going out. (Ing here because of the study?) No. Incorrect. Comment is the same as above. If you use the "ing" form, you must maintain the same after "than"
You can say "I'd rather be staying home than going out.
Also, there are another patterns of "rather". Don't get mixed up with the moods when using these patterns. Take a look at this link:
