Hi!

How do we say the following?

I doubt if it would be as interesting for you as me to go to football match.

I want to mean that i would definitely enjoy the match but my friend doesn't like football so i doubt we would have a good time.

It' s a bit complicated but i hope it can be answered

Is there a logical reason that I prefer "I doubt that" rather than "I doubt if"?

Hi Philip,
Maybe I prefer 'that' too, but I wouldn't say 'if' is wrong.
Does the former sound more definite and the latter sound more tentative to you? To me, maybe so.
