Grammar help please?

Hi,

Could you please check for me If I have made any mistakes in these sentences?

It takes a lot of nerves to (perform) surgery at the first time. ("perform" is an optional)

I nerved myself to surgery a patient at the first time.

I still suffer from nerves before surgery patients even after few times.

I am still nervous before surgery patients even after few times.

Marijuana is illegal / outlawed under the present system in Japan. (Both words work here?)

Cheers
