Grammar help please?

Hi there,

Could you tell me if these two words are pretty much same meaning to you, please? As my dictionary couldn’t differentiate or differ the differences.

I have devoted / dedicated all my energies in English.

I devote / dedicate myself to God.

Thanks in advance.

Top answer

John Aki I have devoted / dedicated all my energies in English. "In" is the wrong preposition for either word. If you devote all your energies to something, you apply them to it assiduously.
