Grammar help please?

Hi,

Could you please tell me which word is correct and how to differentiate them, as they all translate the same meaning in my dictionaries.

I tried to grip / grab / grasp him but it was too late.

I gripped / grabbed / grasped the key.

Tires grip / grab / grasp the road.

The idea is difficult to grip / grab / grasp.

Thanks in advance.
