Grammar help please?

Could you please confirm that my sentences are grammatically correct and right word for these sentences, please?


Two pieces of the woods are binding well.

I was told, British prisoners used to be transported to Australia.

I tossed/tumbled in the bed all night, couldn’t get sleep well last night.

I still remain/maintain a good friendship with him.

I remained/maintained neutral during the debate.
