Grammar help please?

Hi there,

Can you tell me if this word "shave" is making sense in these sentences, please?

I shaved/trimmed the door a little bit, hence it can close properly.

The airplane just shaved the top of a tree.

The bullet just shaved my arm, luckily didn't hit me.

The bus just shaved past me a inch away.

Many thanks.

I think I would say "shaved a little (bit) off the door" rather than "shaved the door a little bit", but what you wrote is not definitely wrong. The use of "shaved" in the other sentences is OK. There are a couple of small problems unrelated to the use of "shaved".
