Grammar! Help me, please.

This is an extract of a song.

We got the afternoon
You got this room for two
One thing I've left to do
Discover me
Discovering you

The first sentence say : "We got the afternoon" (in Spanish: "Tenemos la tarde".

I have a doubt about it. Is correctly written? I think no. Because "got " is in past. Couldn't be better "We've got the afternoon" (have got = have)

I Hope you can understand me.
