I would say that 'small' is the wrong word. It should be 'little', for the
following reasons:

When you want to imply that a difference is so small that it's of no real
importance, you say 'there is very little difference between X and Y'.

When you want to draw attention to a small difference, on the other hand,
you say 'there is a very small difference between X and Y'.

So the two possible corrections are to 'very little' and 'a very small'.

In your example, the next clause begins with 'although'. 'Although' denotes a
concession to the previous clause. A concession here would only make
sense if the difference were of no real importance. So we have to choose
'very little', which makes the corrected version:

'As sweeteners, there is very little difference...'

PS: It seems to me that an 'although' clause isn't quite right here, either, as it links
the presence of minerals, vitamins, etc to the sweetness of honey. (If there is indeed
a link, someone will correct me.) But 'small' is the bigger mistake, so presumably
the answer is B.
