Grammar / correct formulation of phrase

Dear forum members,

I would need your support with the grammatically correct formulation of a certain phrase.

It is regarding the following wording:

a) "Volume, price and currency development lead to a stable sales progression"
I do believe this phrase is correct, however I would like to be 110% sure and also know why it is so.

You could also argue that only the following two alternatives can be correct (and that the one above is wrong):
b) "Volume, price and currency developments lead to a stable sales progression"
or
c) "Volume, price and currency development leads to a stable sales progression"

Could somebody - from a grammatical standpoint - formally explain why a) is also correct (if it is)?

As a layman, I would argue that a) is not wrong because it is just a shortened version of the following sentence: "Volume development, price development and currency development lead to a stable sales progression"... But I would really need a grammatically correct explanation.

Thank you for your support, any help would be much appreciated!

The original sentence is poor because 'development' does not naturally attach to volume and price. You will have to recast: The development of volume, price and currency leads to a stable sales progression.
