grammar correct

Hi, my name is Kristel and I am Dutch...I am struggling with the following sentence...Could someone please help me out?

Sentence: For the last 10 years, he has put a lot of effort into scientific research and has booked astonishing results by using fat transfer ‘lipofilling’ in combination with growth factors ‘PRP’

Question: What sounds better: 'has put a lot of effort into' or 'has put great effort into'...and after 'into' should I place a new verb, like 'into doing scientific research?

Or there other corrections about the sentence I should change?

Many thanks for helping me out!

For the last 10 years, he has put great effort into scientific research and has booked astonishing results by using fat transfer (lipofilling) in combination with PRP growth factors. "Great" is more formal than "a lot", and that is called for here, I'd say. You don't need another verb.

  • For the last 10 years, he has put great effort into scientific research and has booked astonishing results by using fat transfer (lipofilling) in combination with PRP growth factors.
  • "Great" is more formal than "a lot", and that is called for here, I'd say.
  • You don't need another verb.
  • My problem with the sentence is that you seem to have put two unrelated ideas in one sentence.
  • It sounds like the astonishing results were in the field of research, but the technique you mention seems to be applied medicine rather than research.
