Grammar check please?

Hi,

Could you please check for me if I have made any mistake in these meaning?

He sparked the fire then we saw the sparkle.

A diamond sparked / sparkled under the light. (Both can be correct here?) (Spark usually short whereas sparkle often long?)

A cigarette sparkle / spark. (Only spark?)

I am always excited to see my test report.

I was shocked to hear that. (Even more thrilled, speechless...)

Cheers
