Grammar Check

She was afraid that Mr. Shaukat might send her back to the place where he found her or the worse he might send her to an orphanage, the most horrible part of her life.

Should I use "would" in the place of "might"? Is it grammatical to write "or the worse"?

Should I use "that had been the most horrible part of her life" or "that was the most horrible part of her life" instead of just "the most horrible part of her life"?

You can, but you don't have to. 'might' is less certain than 'would'. Both fit the context.
