Grammar check

It's an early morning of the 14th of July. A thick fog emitting all at once from the town obstructs the sunlight, wrapping it in a gloom.

1) I think "an" before "early" is replaced by "the."
2) I think "emitting" after "A think fog" is replaced by "emitted."
3) I think "a" is omitted before "gloom."

I'd like to know whether up to here, my thought is right.
