hi everybody. i would like to learn english grammar better. what grammar book would you recommend me? i read English grammar in Use before

I like "Practical English Usage" by "Michael Swan". You should note that, it is more of a reference book than a practice book. So you can refer to it to clarify your confusion about a grammatical rule.
I like it as it is easy to use and pretty comprehensive.

A Practical English Grammar by A.J. Thompson and A.V. Mrtinet;

Practical English Usage by Michael Swan;

Advanced Grammar in Use by Martin Hewings;

Grammar and Practice by Jimmie Hill with Rosalyn Hurst.

I agree. It is invaluable, not just for learners, but for trainee and beginner teachers. As an experienced teacher and teacher trainer. I still rely on it if I need a quick, accurate and helpful response to a question.

These books help in rectifying most of the mistakes that english language learners make. Also try listening to podcasts like Luke's english podcast if you want to improve your listening skills. His language is very easy to understand. Speak in english often and try reading english comic books and novels .

That rather depends on what Anon means when they* say "i would like to learn english grammar better".

If they* are studying grammar as grammar, for example as part of a Linguistics course, then I would agree that this book is indispensable. If however, they* are attempting to improve their* ability to communicate in English, then something like Swan's Practical English Usage is much more helpful. As Swan says in his introduction,

I have tried to make the presentation as practical as possible. Each entry contains an explanation of a problem, examples of correct usage, and (when this is useful) examples of typical mistakes. [...] Explanations are, as far as possible, in simple everyday language. Where it has been necessary to use grammatical terminology, I have generally preferred to use traditional terms that are simple and easy to understand, except where this would be seriously misleading. Some of these terms [...] would be regarded as unsatisfactory by academic grammarians, but I am not writing for specialists.

Huddleston and Pullum, on the other hand, say

This book is an introductory textbook on modern standard English grammar, intended mainly for undergraduates , in English departments and schools of education, as well as linguistics departments.

So, the books are aimed at very different readers. Both are excellent in their own ways. Only Anon can tell which is more likely to be useful to them*.

* Both Swan (2005.197) and H&P (2005.104) defend this use of they, them, their for he/she, him/her and his/her.
