Hi all,

I would really appreciate it if someone could provide comments on the statements below:

In my class most students use e-mail. OR is it also correct to state, In my class the most students use e-mail? ( 2 def adj)

I think these flowers would grow better if you "had given" OR "gave" them some water. (past tense, therefore are both correct statements)

He is not as clever AS or LIKE he thinks, or can both be used. (Like is also a adj, therefore may also be used in this context?)

I believe that all of the above methods are actually correct English, however would like to hear other comments.

Thanks in advance.

This is present time. You can't use "had given" here. The other is correct, as MM's mentioned.

Mister MicawberIn my class, most students use e-mail.

What about "In my class, most of the students use e-mail." ? I'm not 100% sure here.

However, I'd definitely use "most of the" if the word order were as follows: "Most of the students in my class use e-mail."
