1. Is the verb "asked" without an object okay as follows?

A. He asked, "Are you okay?"

Or must it be followed by an object as follows?

B. He asked me, "Are you okay?"


2. Is the reporting sentence correctly punctuated?

A. He asked, "Are you okay?"

Or should it be as follows?

B. He asked, "Are you okay?".

C. He asked, "Are you okay"?
