Hello everyone,

A. Are the following sentences correct?

1. By sunset, we had walked for ten miles.

2. Until sunset, we had walked ten miles.

3. Until sunset, we had walked.

4. By sunset, we had walked.

B. Is the "for" correct in #1 after "walked"?

C. Is it okay to use "the" before "sunset" as follows?

By the sunset, ...

My answer: I think #1 and #3 are correct.
