Hello,

I want to ask you one question . The below are spoken words of a native speaker {American}

A) He later came to Los Angeles for two years, studying at a college called Occidental, a small private college here in L.A.

If I want to expand the sentence above then , Can I write in this way ?

1) He later came to Los Angeles for two years, he was studying at a college called Occidental, a small private college here in L.A.

2) He later came to Los Angeles for two years and he was studying at a college called Occidental, a small private college here in L.A.

Are Both the option 1) and 2) are correct ?
