Hello everyone,
Is it necessary to change "here" and "this" into "there" and "that" if we change the following direct speech into indirect?
1. He said, "I want to stay here."
He said that he wanted to stay there.
2. He said, "I will buy this car."
He said that he would buy that car.
Or is it not necessary to change them as follows?
1. He said thar he wanted to stay here.
2. He said that he would buy this car.
Regards,
Joseph
