Hello everyone,

Could you please if the following sentences are correct?

1. Breakfast is the first meal of the day.

2. Breakfast is the first meal of day.

3. Breakfast is the first meal on day.

4. Breakfast is the first meal in day.

I think both #1 and #2 are correct and 2 is more natural because it doesn't talk about a specific day.

Regards,

Joseph

Only the first one is correct.

Generally, a singular countable noun (e.g., 'day') must have an article.

(It's English, so there are exceptions, but this is not one of the exceptions.)
