Are these sentence grammatically correct?

1. The color chosen by Jane was neither red or blue nor grey or purple. It was indigo.

2. The owner of the car should be held liable for the offence because even though he wasn't driving, it was his kid, but the car belonged to him.

2. The owner of the car should be held liable for the offence because even though he wasn't driving, (it was his kid ???), but the car belonged to him.

The part with ??? doesn't seem to fit properly into the sentence, so it's probably better to put it in parentheses as shown.

even though at the beginning of that clause doesn't go with but between clauses.

The use of high-register words like "liable for the offence" with low-register words like "kid" makes for poor style. Use "son" or "daughter" as appropriate.

The owner of the car should be held liable for the offence because even though he wasn't driving (It was his son), the car belonged to him.
