Could anyone tell me the difference between to and for with the help of given examples

- I am taking extra classes to prepare for SAT or I am taking extra classes for preparation of SAT.

- I need to go to college to collect my documents or I need to go college for collection of my documents.

Top answer

The versions with "to" are easier and better. "preparation of SAT" should be "preparation for SAT", but then the duplication of "for" simply makes it even more clunky.
