Hi,

Could you tell me if these sentences are correct?

1) "I am on comms with James." We both have an earpiece and we use it to communicate with each other.

2) "All cars were corralled into one lane." Is there a different word I could replace 'corral' with? What about 'direct' or 'bring'?

3) "My dog scurried towards me to greet me." Could 'scurry' be used?

Thank you.

1) Seems fine. Presumably on comms means "in communication". 2) Filtered into one lane is one possibility, as is the informal shunted.

  • 3) No: it's a past event and hence past tense scurried is required.

1. If 'Communications' is the official department you both work in, then, "I am (in) Comms with James."

2. Directed would be better.

3. No, scurried is proper as written.
