Hello, I have questions related to the grammar in the following sentences.
If you answer my questions, I thank you for answering.
(1) Her mom looked exhausted. Natalie asked, “Hard day, Mom?” Eyes still closed, her mom smiled and nodded.
(2) Her mom said, “Well, the marketing people keep track of what kinds of books kids and parents and teachers are buying. Then they tell us, and we’re supposed to make more books like the ones they think people will buy. They want us to publish more adventure books, more series books, and more school stories.”
First, in the above sentence (1), is ‘With eyes still closed’ or ‘Still closing eyes’ instead of 'Eyes still closed,‘ grammatically correct?
Second, in the above sentence (2), is ‘them’ or ‘those’ instead of ‘the ones' grammatically correct?
Please answer. Thank you.
