Could you please check whether the sentence below is grammatically correct?

Through the regular meetings held in the "PARP" framework, we have been developing defence planning practices using the NATO experience.

It is grammatical. My only worry is "defence planning practices". I would like to be sure you meant what it says, practices to be used when planning defence. I'm not sure I know what a practice is when talking about planning.
