Hello everyone,

Could you please tell me if either "the time" or "when", "the place" or "where" is optional in the following sentences "A" amd "B"?

A. The original aentence is:

Eg. Grade 11 was the time when I decided my future career.

Is it OK to write the sentence above as follows?

1. Grade 11 was the time I decided my future career.

2. Grade 11 was when I decided my future career.

B. The original sentence is:

Eg. Witney College was the place where I studied Office Skills.

Is it OK to write the above sentence as follows?

1. Witney College was the place I studied Office Skills.

2. Witney College was where I studied Office Skills.

The correct ones are in blue.

Grade 11 was the time when I decided my future career. (I find this to be redundant.)


1. Grade 11 was the time I decided my future career. (This sounds like it was a certain moment.)

2. Grade 11 was when I decided my future career.

Eg. Witney College was the place where I studied Office Skills.
