Hello

The word "student" refers to both genders "male and female". So when we include it in a sentence, and then we tag the sentence. Is it correct to change "student" into "he or she"?as follow

- There is a student in the classroom,isn't she/he?

Or must it be changed to "they"?

Regards

JA

Joseph A There is a student in the classroom First: why might you ask that? Joseph A isn't she/he? That is terribly clumsy and not to be considered.
