My sister had given birth to a baby girl and today I went to hospital to bring her back.


Is this ok, or should I use "get" instead bring.

I'd recommend "take." Truly, it depends on where the speaker is. Generally, you'd say "take" when you are at the location of the [noun] being moved at going to another place, whereas "bring" is when the [noun] comes to you. Thus, since the speaker is at the hospital, you'd "take her back home."
