Hi everyone,
I need some help with these three examples.

1)He had to drive back to close the garage door, because he hadn't closed it the last time we had been or were at the cottage.

2)I've never met as many creepy people as I've met at high school so far.

3)When a lot of soot comes out of a tiled stove, what word could I use to express that? I don't want to say 'the stove blew up' because it's too strong. There's a word that starts with 'b' that could be used for such a situation, but it completely slipped my mind.

Thank you so much!!

3) In what circumstances does the soot come out? What causes it t

As for the first sentence, I actually mean previous week. Would 'the last time' work in that case?

About the third sentence, let's say that the chimney got clogged and then the soot just came out.

In the case that he visited the cottage, then returned home, then some days later realised that he had forgotten to close the door, and then drove back to the cottage, yes. I suggest perhaps this:

Sorry, I lost sight of the phrasing in your original question; you can also say "... the last time we were there".

Never mind. I really appreciate your help. Thanks again. I'll just have to try to recall the word that starts with 'b'. haha

Ann225I'll just have to try to recall the word that starts with 'b'.

What is the exact sentence in which this word will fit? For example:

The stove b____ a lot of soot.

A lot of soot b____ out of the chimney

or whatever it is.
