'' But you were still being disrespectful to the staff team, you had 7 warning points at the time, and one more warning point would have gotten you banned.''

Is the comma between 'team' and 'you' inappropriate because the saying, '' You had 7 warning points at the time'', can start a sentence on it's own?
Or is it correct because the line that says, '' you had 7 warning points at the time'', counts as extra info, so commas are appropriate to use?

So instead of using a dot and separate it into two sentences, I can use semicolon instead to keep it in one sentence?
