grammar

Hello
I have read a book about grammar about the using of infinitive so I have these sentences:
1 - I was the first one in my family to have gone to university.
2- she was the only one to survive the crash
my question : I have many sentences such that and this causes a trouble for me . so can I in the sentence number(1) say : I was the first one in my family to go to university . and vise versa in sentence number (2) and what is the difference between to be and to have .
thank you very much
