Hi
Please tell me if this is fine for a report in the newspaper.
On the morning of 17th December 2014, just as the sun began to cast its bright streaks of light on the land, the students of ABC School began the celebrations marking the National Day with a majestic march past around the school.
Earlier Principal X hoisted the national flag of ....... and addressed the students about the unique features of .... and its contributions to the world community.
In yet another event to mark the national day of........ the students of IGCSE curriculum presented an impressive cultural show. The function started with a Prayer. Colourful dance performances with the performers in ....... costumes, speeches highlighting the grand culture and heritage of ........ were widely applauded and appreciated by the audience.
The program came to the end with the ....... national anthem by the students of all grades.
At one corner of the venue, there was an exhibition where things typical of ......... culture and traditions were displayed. Among the models for display there was the majlis, where at the end of the cultural show some of the members of the audience sat for a while experiencing the feel of it.

In fact I do come across reports written in literary style. Since descriptive writing is something is really challenging to me, and journalistic style is still more, I am great
