I have a question when I was writing a grammar notebook

The question is:
A: Do you still working?
B: No, I'm retired. I ________ for years.

Should I say "I haven't worked for years." or "I haven't been working for years." or both answers are correct?
Pleases answer my questions and tell me why , thx.
