Are these sentences grammatically right?

When Mary was waiting for her friend, she saw a man SHOUT in the street.

SITTING around the house with nothing to do AND she began to get fat.

Can't we change the form of "shout"? I think in that sentence it should be "shouting"... your opinion?

and for the next one if we have choices of: sat, siting, sit, be siting
I think "sat" is better... Isn't it??
