i have already learn . my sister and her husband is preparing .... my question is ' why the aux or to be using is? not are? as we know that the subject refer to 'they'? tq..

It's not a matter of just 'if'. It's after 'Tell me if", and it can be either present or past. The present tense of an action verb usually has a future meaning in this pattern.

Tell me if you get in. ~ Tell me in the future at the time in the future when you are successful in getting in.
