what is the difference between might and may as well as shall and should and their usage. I also want to know the difference between must and should.

I come across a sentence "I have recommended the parents that they would see me in the future."

Why dont they use "I did recommend" what is the difference. and also want to know difference between I did recommend and I recommended.
