Please tell me whether sentences are correct.

1. Around fifty were rescued, most of them victims of cold.

I came across this sentence recently in an exercise. Is 'were' between them and victims understood?

2. In precise terms her commentary on the passage is exhaustive.

Is this expression idiomatic?

3. She stayed up long/for a long time to finish the project.
