Grammar

Hi

Please tell me whether these sentences are ok (correct).

1.Therefore, all shopaholics should rather try to find a better source of pleasure than a new dress or trinket. (shouldn’t there be “a trinket”?)

2. Recently I have bought a car on instalments. (Is "on instalments used?" or maybe "buy by instalments"?)

3.The act of buying is a way of escaping from their unsolved problems and for a moment it makes them feel happy. (can we say: the act of buying or could there be just “buying”?)

4.They can't imagine life without the possibility of visiting the shops and spending long hours among the shelves and racks. (because it's generally about women addicted to shopping shouldn't it be "visiting shops" (meaning any shops), and "among shelves and racks" (meaning in general any shelves and racks in any store) - because in my understanding putting "the" we mean specific shops and specific racks.)

5. The best advice then is to take a list of essential products to buy and become "immune" to the various sales and aggressive advertising. (is “immune” the right word here or should it rather be "insusceptible"? (even if it's used in a metaphorical sense))

It would be really awesome if your reply was sth more than "All five are ok" and if there was for example the part "it's correct/incorrect because ....(a brief one-sentence explanation)" And by "correct" I mean if you ever saw/heard it used in either spoken or written form or if it's not against grammatical rules.

Thank you.
