Hi,

Could you help me understand the structure of the underlined sentence in the next paragraph?

[Text]

Having grown up with successful women such as Margaret Thatcher and Madonna as role
models, and with popular culture awash with fantasies of all-powerful women, from Lara Croft to Buffy the Vampire Slayer, men are not so uncomfortable with the woman in control. This value system recognises the trend of female supremacy, which while not as yet the norm seems to be pointing the way for future relationships.

[Questions]

1. I can't understand the usage of which in the sentence. If the 'which' is removed, is it wrong? What are differences between with the 'which' and without the 'which' in the passage?

2. If anything is omitted in the underlined sentence, please tell me whatever it is.

3. Please check whether I understand the stucture of the last sentence corretly. The following separations show you what I understand under the constituent parts of the sentence or under meaning chunks.

This value system / recognises / the trend of female supremacy, which [while / (not as yet) norm / seems to be pointing / the way for future relationshilps.]

=> So, I just feel like the 'which' is hanging because there isn't any verb matched to the 'which' in the subordinate clause.

Thank you.
