How do I use the conjunction "and" with commas when creating lists in a sentence?

Top answer

Hi, If you mean simple lists, I do it like this. eg Tom bought an apple, a pear and a banana. Some writers, particularly in America, would add a comma after 'pear', but I've never done that in my life.
