Hi,

Both ways are natural, but I prefer #1.

Don't say 'the modern youth'.

Thank you, Clive.
I would like to give you some information to get it clear.
The passage is on modern youth. The line I gave is a question.
Since I thought the writer is trying to identify the modern youth with something and not the vice versa.

Hi Suresh,

OK, then use #2.

As I said, you don't need to say 'the modern youth'.

I think you mean an 'instruction', not a 'question'.

If I were writing it, I'd write:

Identify two things that the writer associates with modern youth.

Thank you CJ.
I am sorry I made the mistake ( the modern youth) again.
I think the way you have done is just right.

Hi CJ,
Can't I call it a question?
(It was asked in a test.)

In the sense of "test item" it's a question, but not grammatically. In terms of grammar a question form of it might be something like this:

Can you identify two things that the writer associates with modern youth

Thank you, CJ. I have understood it
