Hi, Could you pls tell me why we cannot use the word On after the word Press. For eg:Press on the enter key?? Is there a specific rule related to prepostion and verbs. Thanks..

I don't know of such a rule.
It's idiomatic to use "press" and "push" without the "on" when the verbs are used in the sense of "to operate."
Push/pull the lever, press the button.

"Push on the door to see if it's unlocked." I see nothing wrong with this.
