I know the two word phrase "How fun" is incorrect,but I don;t know why.

How is normally not used before nouns , and except for some informal uses, fun is a noun. In other words, you cannot say: how money, how information, how books if you mean 'what a lot' or 'such a lot' or something similar. Yiou can of course say: I can't understand how money spoiled our relationship.

Just to elaborate, the word 'fun' is often used today as an adjective, particularly by younger people.

eg That was a fun movie.

One posssible factor may be that the word is so short, compared to comparable existing adjectives like 'enjoyable'.

If this trend continues, then I think that one day dictionaries will begin to list 'fun' as both a noun and
