My guess is that it means the King is not well protected.

That's what I was thinking, too. From some sites that don't clear it up for me, but the last one makes clear that it is not good:

— White's king is a little drafty, but seems to be well-defended by White's queen and pawns clustered around it.
— if he punches a hole or two in your **** chain and penetrates (along the b file perhaps) your king's position looks very drafty. I
