Graded or tiered tasks?

Hello everybody!

I'm so sorry to bother everyone with my problem but I'm getting a bit frustrated ...

I'm lookng for the correct translation of a german expression. But neither dictionaries nor google, bing & co would give me a proper explanation...

I want to find an english expressions for tasks made for students with different levels of competence....but these task deal all with the same content and only differ in the amount of support given by the teacher.

Would you describe these tasks as `level graded tasks` or rather as `level tiered tasks'?

Thank you in advance!!!!
