Grade rating

Which is correct?
Do you say a non decimal number or is there a word for it?

You have to give a grade/rating/rate between 1 and 5 and it has to be a non decimal number. You can't give a 3.5 or 3.75.

Thanks

integer; whole number
'integer' would be more familiar to mathematicians.

Grades must be an integer between 1 and 5.

What if you can have decimal numbers. Is this correct?
Grades can be decimal numbers. You can give a grade of 3.7 out of 5.

Thank you

I wouldn't say 'decimal number'. I'd probably say "Grades don't have to be whole numbers, You can give a grade of 3.7", For me, '3.7 out of 5' is a mark, not a grade.
