I don't know what's the meaning of "Grab something by something" like "grab me by the ankles".

Can anyone explain it to me?

grab X by Y means that X is the part of Y that you should hold Y by. If you grab me by the ankles , your hands will hold my ankles, not my arms, not my hair, not my knees, etc.
