GOT SOMEONE ON GOOD SIDE

- My Mom acted the same way when I made her buy my dress, and she thought $1000 was way too much for a purse. But I did lots of things around the house and got her on good side and hey hey hey! She got me the purse.

- What does "got her on good side" mean in this situation? and "she got me the purse" means "she BOUGHT me the purse", right?
