Got in the hope

Is it sentence grammatical:


"When I heard that we were going to have a body guard, I got in hope of that it was going to be a big muscled man, but he couldn't further from that image."


Is it correct to say:


"... I got in the hope..."

No. Not grammatical. It should be I hoped that it was ... or maybe I began to hope that it was ... or I began hoping that it was ....
